Server Collocation

OCOSA Communications provides reliable, unsurpassed data center services to Oklahoma.  We operate a secure data center on many levels with multiple connections to Tier 1 and 2 carriers that have diversified paths into the facility and network.  Our facility is located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the Kennedy Building.

Our data center is one of a kind.  It was constructed from the ground up, in 2004 with various additions maintained each year.  If you are looking for a small collocation provider that can truly provide that “one call away” or “1-on-1 support” scenario choose OCOSA.

HVAC

Multiple tons of cooling sustained either by our air-cooled, portable air and our chilled water HVAC units. We are able to maintain a consistent cooling temperature and level of redundancy because of our diverse configuration of our HVAC units.  

POWER

Our facility receives 3 Phase (208V) power from the main switch gear located in the building.   We have multiple facility-wide UPS systems for redundancy that will protect customers from power surges, non-conditioned power, and transferring from normal power to generator power in the event of an extended power outage or dirty power situation.  Our power configuration is unique in using automatic transfer switches (ATS) for handling feeds to the data center (behind our UPS) and feeds to the utility power or generator tap (in front of our UPS), thus giving that extra level of redundancy.  For extended power outages we have multiple portable generators that we own at our disposal.  Should we ever need, we have access to a dedicated 150kW Diesel generator that has an auto transfer switch.

FIRE SYSTEMS

Our facility has a wet fire system in place to protect customer servers from fires.

SECURITY

Our facility has IP-based cameras that are monitored and recorded 24/7. The data center entrance requirements are that all visitors to the data center be escorted and required to sign the log documentation.  Some entrances require dual security which may be standard commercial key, electronic combination pad interfaced with a system, and or Biometric systems at all critical access points.    

CABINET / CABLE MANAGEMENT

Our facility has overhead Chatsworth ladder racking systems used to efficiently route our fiber, copper, and power to the customer. We use APC 42U cabinets with vented doors for the proper air flow. If requested you can have a cabinet with exhaust fans placed to further manage heat loads.  Our cabinets were placed in design with the whole “hot aisle” “cold aisle” concept in tact.

NETWORK

Our network was engineered versus built and is fully redundant configured to be uninterruptible.  Our core routing speaks BGP/MPLS allowing for a fully meshed and a self-healing backbone.  Our switching utilizes HSRP/STP for an extra layer of redundancy and resiliency in our ringed physical and logical network. Our network is powered by carrier class Cisco and Extreme routers and switches with redundant processors, redundant power supplies, redundant software configuration, and hot swappable line cards in the event we need to use spares.  We utilize the IEEE 802.1Q VLAN standard when implementing circuits on our network.  We currently peer with Cox, tw telecom, and AT&T.  Our fiber optic network spans across multiple commercial buildings and type-II over other carriers.  

NEUTRAL CARRIER ACCESS

Not all customers want to purchase bandwidth from their collocation provider; we make things simple by having a cross connect via fiber or copper to all carriers in our building. Currently our building is fiber lit by AT&T, Verizon Business, and Cox. We have cross connects to all three carriers inside our facility.
