Open Outlook Express. Right-click Local Folders and choose New Folder. |

Enter Spam in the Folder name field. Click OK to continue. |

A new folder called Spam has been created. This folder will contain all of the spam/junk mail once we create the appropriate Message Rule. |

Click Tools, then select Message Rules, then click Mail. |

Click the checkbox next to Where the Subject line contains specific words.
Click the underlined contains specific words in the Rule Description box towards the bottom. |

Enter [may-be-spam] (or just may-be-spam without the brackets) in the Type specific words or a phrase box.
Click Add once you are finished. |

Click OK to continue. |

Check the box next to Move it to the specified folder in the Select the Actions for your rule box.
Click the underlined specified word in the Rule Description box towards the bottom. |

Choose the Spam folder and click OK. |

Enter Spam Rule in the Name of the rule field. Click OK to continue. |

Click OK to finish. |

Spam/junk mail that you receive will now be automatically stored in the Spam folder.
ADVANCED USERS:
If you do not wish to see Spam at all, you may modify the Message Rule to send all spam to your Deleted Items folder instead. |
